Our facility is small with only 13 boarding rooms, ensuring each dog gets LOTS of individual attention and helps keep stress levels low! Each climate-controlled suite features a comfy Kuranda® bed topped with a soft fleece blanket. Your pet can relax or be entertained by a favorite TV show or movie, as each suite has its own private television. We have 3 - 8ft x 8ft rooms, 6 - 6ft x  8ft rooms, and 4 - 4ft x 8ft rooms. Pricing is the same regardless of room or dog size. We will place your pet(s) in an appropriate sized room. Large dogs are not put in the 4ft x 8ft rooms. You may request certain rooms if available, but we cannot guarantee specific size room availability upon check in. 

Separation from their best (human) friend and new surroundings may cause anxiety for some guests. AAP’s suite accommodations buffer excessive noise (barking) resulting from typical kennel configuration (side-by-side kennel runs), ensuring a peaceful “safe-haven” for each guest. Each suite is cleaned daily to ensure the safety and comfort of your pet.

Visitation

Want to take your pup out during the day for some fun in sun? No problem! You may check out your dog anytime M-F 8:00AM - 5PM. Saturday 8AM- 3:30PM, and Sun 8AM - 3:30PM.

***PLEASE NOTE*** Dogs who come back from the beach sandy and have not been thoroughly rinsed will be charged for a beach bath. Leaving sand on a dog's coat not only can cause skin issues, but is also a safety issue because the sand makes our floors very slippery.

A beach bath consists of a simple bath and blow dry. Pricing may vary depending on breed and coat type, you may be charged for brushing in order to avoid the dog's coat matting or possible skin issues.

Potty Breaks & Play Time

Dogs get access to the yard first thing in the morning starting at 7am. Then multiple times in the afternoon between 9-4, and in the evening no earlier than 8pm. 

Our outdoor yard is over 900sqft, and has separate small dog and large dog play areas. It is surrounded by a 6ft fence, and covered in dog-specific artificial turf. Any poops are cleaned up immediately, and multiple times a day the entire yard is washed down with a non-toxic, pet-safe anti-bacterial/virucidal cleaner.

Meals

We recommend that owners bring their dog’s preferred food from home. We also have a selection of dry, canned and raw dog food available for purchase in our store.  We can accommodate refrigerated/frozen diets. 

Medication

AAP understands that many dogs have special needs. Our professional caregivers are experienced in administering medication per your instructions. There is no fee for administering medication or supplements that can be mixed in with food or given as a treat. We highly recommend you bring medication and/or supplements in their original packaging. If you bring them in baggies or other containers they MUST be clearly labeled with medication name and concentration. At this time we are not able to accommodate pets with diabetes that require insulin injections or blood glucose monitoring.

We charge $5 per medication/day for the following:

• Dogs that require hand-pilling (meaning we are unable to just mix pill into food or pill pocket) or is difficult to medicate. You must provide your own pill pockets. We carry multiple sizes and flavors in our store.
  
• Dogs that require multiple medications, or special needs medications such as, ear meds/cleaning, waiting periods between medications, etc. If your dog requires more than 2 pills a day, we please ask that you provide them in a labeled pill organizer. 

Bathing

We offer basic nail trimming, bathing and full-service grooming services. If you'd like to add any of these services to your pup's stay just let us know! Bathing and grooming prices vary by breed/size.

Daily Updates

Each evening you will be emailed a report card on how your pup's day went. Report cards include feeding and medication updates, photos, videos and more!

Daycare

Daycare is available Monday through Friday 8:00 - 5:30, Saturday 8AM- 4PM, and Sun 8AM - 4PM. Daycare dogs are kept in a group setting and have access to both outdoor and indoor play areas. If you require a a private suite for daycare, you will be charged the full boarding rates in order to secure the room.  We recommend booking private suite early, as our suites fill up quickly.

AAP is the only cat boarding facility on Hilton Head to offer each special kitty their own spacious cat townhouse. Each space has a comfy bed, cat tree and litter box area. The townhouses are multi-level with vertical and horizontal passages for active, climbing cat guests. The cat area overlooks our retail store, providing the cats with lots of interaction and entertainment throughout the day. 

Separation from their best (human) friend and new surroundings may cause anxiety for some guests. AAP’s cat accommodations are located on the opposite end of the building, away from the dogs to buffer excessive noise, ensuring a peaceful “safe-haven” and personal space for each cat guest.  We also use Feliway diffusers to help create a calming and low-stress environment for your special kitty. 

Cats are monitored multiple times throughout the day even when our store is closed. The townhouses are cleaned twice daily to ensure the safety and comfort of your cat.

We recommend that owners bring their cat’s preferred food from home. We also have a selection of dry, canned and raw cat food available for purchase in our store.

Medication

Our professional caregivers are experienced in administering medication per your instructions. There is an additional fee for hand-pilling, injections and fractious cats. We reserve the right to charge accordingly at our discretion.

When making a reservation we require a valid credit card number. While we do not require a deposit at the time of booking, your card on file will be charged automatically under the following conditions:
